Portugal final game for the European title has taken quite a turn and has not gone as planned against France.
Cristiano Ronaldo was injured in the opening minutes Sunday, colliding with French midfielder Dimitri Payet in the knee area.
Ronaldo’s knee buckled, and he was able to resume the match but lacked his usual quickness and seemed to be in a lot of pain. Another collision minutes later put him back on the ground, this time with trainers and teammates surrounding him.
Ronaldo was unable to finish the match, and was subbed out by Ricardo Quaresma.
Ronaldo has nine goals in his Euro career, tied for the competition record set by France’s Michael Platini.
