“Having heard this news early this morning, I took action to immediately suspend both freshman players indefinitely,” head coach P.J. Fleck said in a statement. “We expect to learn more about these allegations today.
Two Western Michigan football players Bryson White, 20, and linebacker Ron George, 18, have been suspended from the team after being arrested for allegedly holding up a female student with a semi-automatic weapon and a knife.
George who is from Pittsburgh and White from Mason, Ohio were indefinitely suspended from their team after both were arrested for holding up a female student with a semi-auto and a knife. The alleged robbery took place off campus.
“I’m extremely disappointed and want to assure the community that this kind of conduct is unacceptable and does not represent the values of this team or this university.”
Coach Fleck said the players could be kicked off the team and dismissed from the University if the allegations prove true.Western Michigan officials confirmed that the two players were arrested overnight. They were nabbed in a car on campus with weapons and stolen money, the Kalamazoo TV station reported.
The two players are being held at Kalamzaoo County Sheriff’s Office.
