Rowe has been charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of illegal drugs in a drug-free zone.

Authorities in Atlanta arrested officer Iris Rowe Monday during a drug bust at a College Park apartment on Godby Road.
Rowe [left], resigned from the Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday following her arrest at an apartment complex where police discovered 7 pounds of marijuana.
Authorities also discovered prescription pills, guns, ammunition, and $8,000 inside the apartment during the raid on Monday.
Iris Rowe resigned after she was notified that Chief Erika Shields would terminate her on Thursday. In response, she turned in a letter of resignation, police sources said.
Additional drugs and two guns – including an AR-15 – were also found in Rowe’s car.
Rowe was carrying the gun that had been issued to her by the department at the time of the arrest.
Her uniform, badge, vest, and ID were also found inside the apartment, according to WSBTV.
Rowe was immediately suspended following her arrest and was notified that she would be dismissed at an emergency hearing on Thursday, the Atlanta Police Department said in a statement.

‘I would like to send my deepest apologies to the department and others for this shameful act,’ she wrote.

Authorities had been collecting surveillance at the apartment and had no idea Rowe was an officer before the raid, College Park Police Chief Keith Meadows told 11Alive.

Both men face multiple drug charges.
