How to make a sushi doughnut recipe found on Popsugar

Instagram user and vegan blogger sobeautifullyraw is on a doughnut. She is the creator of  galaxy doughnuts, and now she’s the proud inventor of sushi doughnuts. The concept seems quite easy to re-create. According to the post, grease a doughnut mold with coconut oil, press cold sushi rice into the mold, then flip the pan upside down to carefully remove the rice rings. She went the vegan route, decorating the “doughnut” with black sesame, ginger, wasabi, cashew mayo, and avocado, allow your creativity to take over. Also pictured is an avocado rose, which you can easily re-create by fanning out thinly sliced avocado and rolling it into a tight rosebud.

I decided to jazz up my breakfast smoothie with some chocolate sauce! And I've definitely cracked the recipe! The smoothie was 2 handfuls of kale, 1 cup pineapple, handful of mint, 1/2 cup coconut water and 1 tsp of spirulina all blended with ice. Chocolate sauce: Put 1/2 cup oat milk, 2 tbsp maple syrup and 2 tbsp cocoa or cacao powder in a pan. Bring to the boil, stirring all the time and simmer for 30 secs to 1 min. How to eat and boost your metabolism with Metabolic Cooking – Know what to eat and what time to eat.

1. Food combinations are crucial to optimize fat loss. Some foods-such as lean proteins, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains—take more work to eat so you burn more calories during digestion. How to Perfectly Poach an Egg

Poaching n egg can be  a little tricky. I saw this lovely how-to and thought I’d share it with you.

How To Perfectly Poach an Egg:

  1. Prepare a small bowl of cold water.
  2. Crack your egg on the edge of the bowl (only one at a time), so it is easier for you to pour into the water when it is time.
  3. Fill a medium sized saucepan with water and add 2 tsp white vinegar and 1 tsp sea salt. Bring this to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Once water is boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low and keep the water at a gentle simmer (there should only be small bubbles rising).
  5. Using a spoon, start stirring the simmering water until it creates a whirlpool. This can help to keep your eggs together as they cook and give them that perfect poached egg shape.
  6. Slide the egg into the water as close as possible to the whirlpool.
  7. If you like a soft poached egg, cook for 2-3 minutes or 3-4 minutes if you like a firm yolk.
  8. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the egg from the hot water into a bowl of cold water. This can stop the cooking process so you don’t overcook your egg.
  9. Remove from the cold water and pat dry on a plate lined with paper towel.

Foodie Corner: Apple Rose Pastry Dessert

A tasty snack to prepare. Apple Rose Desserts

We saw this yesterday thought it will be a fun recipe to try out. Making this looks pretty simple. I’ll be baking it this weekend and will you all give a feedback by Monday. How about some of you try this out and take pictures to show off our ‘hard work’. This will be shared in this spot next week.

How to make a rose shaped apple pastry. This simple recipe is really easy to make and looks fantastic. You only need a few ingredients, and it doesn’t take long to make your own flower shaped dessert.
I used 3 red apples, 375g of puff pastry, 2 tbsp lemon juice, some icing sugar and cinnamon. Bake for 35 – 40 mins at 190°C / 375°F.
