Feisty ‘little’ Darcie wins life’s early battles: 8 months later, she beat the odds and has stories to tell.

The premature baby who was tinier than her mother’s hand and weighed the same as a bag of sugar battled the odds to become smiling, bouncing little girl

Look at miracle baby Darcie at 8 months

Born at just 22 weeks, Darcie weighed only 14oz and had slim chances

But she has battled the odds and is now a smiling, bouncing 8-month-old

Darcie has had a heart operation and stopped breathing three times

Parents tell how little ‘miracle’ made it

Tiny Darcie is dwarfed by her father’s hand in this photo. Born at just 22 weeks – hardly more than halfway through a normal pregnancy – and weighing only 14oz, the little girl’s chances of survival were slim. But she has battled the odds to pull through and is now a smiling, bouncing eight-month-old.
Parents Claire Elwin and Dean Blakely described how their little ‘miracle’ made it – with a large amount of help from doctors and nurses at two hospitals.
It hasn’t been all plain sailing, though. Darcie has had a heart operation and stopped breathing three times, including once when her ‘petrified’ mother had to resuscitate her.
Care assistant Miss Elwin, 37, from Havant in Hampshire, did not even know she was pregnant until a week before the birth, when Mr Blakely took her to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth after she began bleeding heavily.
Miss Elwin said: ‘They did an emergency scan and they found the baby was perfectly all right, but I had a placental node that was bleeding.’
After four days of observation, she was discharged – only to return two days later when the bleeding returned. Hours later, Darcie was born – two weeks before the legal abortion limit of 24 weeks – and so small that Miss Elwin’s waters didn’t break.
She said: ‘She was “born in the bag” but when the doctors took her out she tried to breathe. The consultant said, “all the time she is fighting, we will fight with her”. And that’s exactly what they did.’

Darcie was whisked away to the neonatal intensive care unit and it was six hours before Miss Elwin got to see her.
She said: ‘It was busy and frightening, and we were confronted by a baby who was no bigger than my hand. It was a scary, scary moment. To touch her was like touching a baby bird.’ Darcie was so small she was translucent.
From the birth last July until mid-November, Darcie stayed in the unit, with her parents visiting every day, watching her slowly gain in body weight and strength.
But Miss Elwin said: ‘The possibility of losing her was always there, like a knife hanging over our heads.’
In September, Darcie underwent an operation at Southampton Hospital to close a heart duct, which went well. But they experienced a major scare just days after she was finally allowed home, when she stopped breathing and turned ‘pure white’. ‘I was absolutely petrified,’ Miss Elwin said. ‘She was making no effort to breathe at all.’Thankfully the couple had been given expert CPR training.image.1.jpegDarcie has battled the odds to pull through and is now a smiling, bouncing eight-month-old

‘My mind went completely blank and I had to step out of myself and think, “What was I taught?” ’ she said. ‘I did mouth-to-mouth for what felt like for ever, although really the ambulance only took a few minutes. When it was all done and she was taken out of my hands, I collapsed on the floor in a big heap.’ Darcie had two other ‘respiratory arrests’ in hospital, with staff keeping her alive.
Carpenter Mr Blakely, 45, said: ‘She is a total miracle.’
Dr Tim Scorrer, consultant neonatologist at the Queen Alexandra, said: ‘One of the most enjoyable aspects of our job is to follow up infants like Darcie and see them progressing over time.’
Miss Elwin said she wanted the abortion limit to be reduced from 24 weeks, adding: ‘It is very frightening to think that Darcie was born at that age – and has survived and recovered well – and yet babies are terminated at 23 weeks.’

Looks worse than it is!! Shocking moment matador is gored in the buttocks by a raging bull – but incredibly he waddles away with just minor injuries

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

Matador Andres Roca Rey, 19, was gored in the buttocks by a bull as he took on the animal in Seville, Spain

Bullfighter appeared to have been impaled through the bottom by the 84-stone bull’s horn, sparking panic in crowd

He wrestled himself free of the bull as blood poured down his leg and fellow fighters ran into the ring to help

But Roca Rey walked away with minor injuries and is believed to have only been grazed on the thigh by the horn

Graphic footage shows blood pouring down the Peruvian bullfighter’s left thigh as he is tossed around, while fellow matadors stream into the ring to try to help.
Roca Rey wrestles himself free of the horn and falls to the ground, with the bleeding bull backing away as the fighter covers his head with his hands.
While these horrific pictures appear to show the bull’s horn goring Roca Rey through the buttocks, he was able to walk away with minor injuries.
It is believed that the bull’s horn grazed the matador’s thigh, but miraculously avoided more delicate areas as he rode on top of the animal’s head.
The blood seen on Roca Rey is thought to be that of the bull’s, rather than his own. Bulls are routinely stabbed in the back and shoulders before entering the ring to make them more angry but also to ensure they are weaker by the time they face a matador.
The shaken fighter took a victory lap after the mauling and was applauded by the thousands in the crowd, including the former king of Spain, Juan Carlos.3303071a00000578-0-image-a-9_1460244357272The shaken fighter took a victory lap after the mauling and was applauded by the thousands in the crowd, including the former king of Spain, Juan Carlos. US Marine: marine : I’ve killed your kind many times!’: Ex-Marine caught yelling obscenities at Arab American teens at a gas station

 …anger management issues?

Viral: The shocking outburst was recorded by one of the teens and is now quickly spreading on Facebook

‘I’ve killed your mother f—–g kind, many times!’

A white man claiming to be a former Marine has been caught om camera offensively yelling at a group of Arab American teenagers at a gas station in Michigan, telling them: ‘I’ve killed your mother f—–g kind, many times!’

The incident reportedly happened on March 27 at a gas station in Coldwater.

According to the Arab American News, Ahmed Mohsen, the 15-year-old who recorded the incident, said that the man started screaming after the teens put their gas money on top of the two cases of beer he had placed on the counter.

‘I’ve killed your mother f—–g kind, many times!’: This is the moment the man – announcing himself as a Marine – screams obscenities at the teens as he leaves the Coldwater gas station with his cases of beer

Mohsen said there was nowhere else to leave their money and he didn’t think it would a problem.

As the video starts, the man is leaving with his beer.

On camera he can be heard saying: ‘I’m a U.S. Marine, dude. I’ve been in Fallujah. I’ve killed your motherf—–g kind. Many times. Many times.’

A second video shows the man pulling out the gas station in his truck. He can be heard yelling out at the teens, but what he is saying is not audible.

Coldwater, a town of 11,000 about 125 miles southwest of Detroit, has a relatively large Arab American population.

The Director of Public Safety in Coldwater, Mark Bartell, told the newspaper they are aware of the situation. Police were notified of what happened a few days after the incident.

Bartell said the man’s conduct could fall under assault, disorderly conduct or ethnic bias.

‘Our Arab American population is integrated into our school,’ Bartell told the paper.

‘To my knowledge, everything is successful and going quiet well.’

Photo: Ahmed Mohsen/FacebookIn a second video taken at the gas station, the man can be seen pulling out in his truck, as one of the teenagers that was yelled at watched

The video has been shared over 23,000 times on Facebook, as of Thursday, and received scores of comments from viewers.

One viewer, Anissa Rashell Smith, commented: ‘There is no excuse for what the man said, BUT those kids were also disrespectful by doing that to another man. It’s a teenage thing to do. Wait your turn in line, you didn’t need to put your money anywhere.’

Twelve months later and the pair exchanged vows at a ‘very low key’ wedding in front of 130 of their closest friends and family in Sorrento, Victoria.

‘It was utterly spectacular overlooking the sea, but it was blowing an absolute gale.’
‘I have quite a lot of dark curls and Leila has her blonde curls so the wind just kept blowing our hair all over our face which did not impress the photographer.

Ms Hart got ready with her sister and Leila, who wore a white lace dress and floral crown, while Scott’s new mother in law Helen and three sons – Luke, 22, Jye, 30 and Bailey, 18 – helped him prepare for the big day.

‘Scott’s boy and his daughter Belle were really glad to know their dad had finally found happiness.’
Despite Leila and her father sharing a very close bond, Ms Hart said the three-year-old was quite protective of her mother after learning of the wedding and did not appear all that impressed with the impending nuptials.

‘She wasn’t interested at first and kept saying ‘you can’t marry my mum’ but she ended up getting caught up in it all and was the most divine little flower girl,’ Ms Hart said.

Horrid hair dye Arllergy: Fitness blogger’s face swells after horrifying allergic reaction Hair dye reaction. Teenager almost dies twice

— It is important that allergy testing is carried out each and every time you colour your hair even if you have used the same hair colourant previously

…lucky to be alive

https://i0.wp.com/i1.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article7590149.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/TEASER-Hair-dye-reaction.jpg
Chemese Armstrong’s face swelled up so much she was unable to see for two days after visiting a salon to have her grey hairs covered

A fitness blogger was left unable to open her eyes for two days after an allergic reaction to henna hair dye caused her face to swell up to twice its size.
Chemese Armstrong, who became an inspiration to thousands through charting her battle to lose more than double her body weight, experienced the extreme reaction after visiting a salon to have her grey hairs covered.
When she visited A&E, doctors told the 35-year-old that if her face swelled up any more it would begin to affect her breathing.
Sharing her “traumatic” experience on Instagram as she recovered, the Texas-based blogger said the hair dye had caused her “severe pain”.

https://josdaily.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/cee4e-12826184_1044710812259198_634676982_n.jpg?w=640&h=640

She wrote: “I was in severe pain from my scalp burning and itching with my face completely swollen to the point I was unrecognizable.
“The most scary part about this whole thing is that my eyes was completely swollen shut where I couldn’t see for two days.
“My doctor was afraid that it was going to start affecting my breathing which didn’t happen.
“As of today my eyes are open and I can see again but my face is still very swollen (I don’t look like myself).
“I’m not in any more pain and I feel things are heading in the right direction.
“I hate that this had to happen but now I’m even more focus on making sure that my health is number one priority.”

Chemese used henna hair dye, a plant-based substance, on the advice of a dermatologist.
She knew she was allergic to Paraphenylenediamine, or PPD, which is found in many mainstream dyes, and always avoided using it.
However it appears her most recent hair stylist ignored Chemese’s warnings.
In a YouTube video, she told her followers: “I was told the henna was all natural and chemical-free but that wasn’t the case.”
Chemese visited the salon and March 5 and did not react to the dye straight away.
After a 30-minute strand test it appeared that nothing was wrong, but after the dye was washed off Chemese started to show symptoms.

In a later post on Instagram, she shared: “My face is still swollen and I don’t look like myself. “It’s hard looking at myself in the mirror right now but I know this is only temporary and I’m taking it one day at a time.”
Chemese, who missed an entire week of work because of the ordeal, now has an EpiPen, in case this ever happens again.
Nine days after the appointment Chemese still had no response to her emails to the salon.

Yet another case with a teenager

But instead of leaving Dinya Rasool feeling glam, a bottle of home hair colourant almost killed her – twice.

After a reaction to a home dye kit in 2012 put her in hospital, another attempt three years later put Dinya back in A&E on the brink of death.

Despite choosing an ammonia-free brand and completing a patch test, the second reaction caused Dinya’s face and glands to swell so much she went temporarily blind, struggled to breathe and suffered dangerous levels of pressure on her brain.

It was six weeks before the swelling went down and now Dinya, 18, from Cardiff, has vowed never to dye her hair again.

She says: “I cannot begin to explain how terrifying it is to feel your entire face swell so much that you can’t see.

“The pain is like nothing I’ve ever experienced, it felt like my head was going to explode.

“The first time it happened I was so scared as I had no idea what was happening. The second time I knew what it was, but this time it was even worse and I was so frightened I wouldn’t make it through.

‘I’m not about to die’ Malawi’s president tells Nigerian ‘prophet, TB Joshua’

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Peter Mutharika, the president of Malawi, on Sunday attacked a popular Nigerian television evangelist over an alleged prophecy that he would die before April 1, state television reported.
https://i0.wp.com/i.telegraph.co.uk/multimedia/archive/03593/Robert-Mugabe_3593976b.jpg

I’m told there is a man in Nigeria called Joshua and he is saying that Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe and Peter Mutharika will die before April 1,” he said, referring to an evangelical preacher called TB Joshua.
“Let me tell you, Joshua… you will fail. What you did in 2012 will not happen again this year,” the president told a rally in the capital Lilongwe.

In 2012, Mr Joshua reportedly predicted the death of a president of an unnamed southern African country. Mr Mutharika’s brother, Bingu, who was president at the time, did die within the predicted timeframe, giving the prophesy strong currency in Malawi.

Nigerian preacher TB Joshua: Predicts  the death of Zimbabwe and Malawi presidents before ‘All Fools Day

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Mr Mutharika did not say when or where Joshua made the latest prophesy.
In January, the preacher made a televised prophecy, telling his congregation to pray for the leaders in southern Africa, saying: “End of February to April this year, peculiar months for Southern Africa.”
But Mr Mutharika questioned Joshua’s credentials as a prophet, pointing to the collapse of a guesthouse in his sprawling Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos in September 2014, which left 116 people dead, mostly South Africans.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); “Why did he not foretell this tragedy?
“This all shows that he is a liar. He just wants to raise money,” said Mr Mutharika, who is in his mid 70s, pledging to be around in 2019 for the next presidential elections, and in also 2024, when or if re-elected, he will wrap up his last term.
Mr Mutharika came to power in 2014 after defeating Joyce Banda.
Mrs Banda, who succeeded Bingu Mutharika, made several visits to the Nigerian headquarters of Joshua’s church and once described the evangelist as her “spiritual father”.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});  It should be noted that Joshua’s joins a long list of soothsayers who have predicted the death of that continent’s despots.  Last year controversial Malawian prophet, Austin Liabunya  re-stated his earlier prophesy on Zimbabwean President, Robert Mugabe who he predicted would not live beyond December 31st, 2015.
Liabunya’s prophecy which went viral on Social Media earlier that year was the subject of intense debate in Malawi and Zimbabwe as the days to Mugabe’s proclaimed death approached. It never came to pass. He later claimed that he had faced routine death threats once he delivered the prophecies of doom on Presidents Peter Mutharika and Robert Mugabe.
Liabunya had said “Mugabe’s biological clock will not tick beyond this year (2015) ” after which Zimbabwe will be “restored” to be one of the richest countries in Africa, adding that First Lady Grace Mugabe “will never win in Zimbabwean politics” and had simply joined politics to “protect her ill-gotten wealth,” for which she would be soon humiliated.

Worrying New Craze – Women are trying to make their waists smaller than a piece of paper

Women are trying to make their waists smaller than a piece of paper in ‘worrying’ new social media craze

A bizarre social media craze taking the internet by storm is seeing women compare their waist measurements to PAPER in a bid to prove their fitness. The goal is to measure the same or narrower than A4 paper held in a portrait position (because obviously it would be too wide in landscape).
How wide is a sheet of A4 paper? Just 21 centimeters or 8.27 inches.
According to the women taking part, the belief is that the challenge is a very reachable and healthy goal to aim towards – and fit is the new sexy.

The images are being shared on social media website Sina Weibo – also referred to as Chinese Twitter – and follow similar crazes to prove fitness or ‘womanhood’. Social media users have slammed the pictures as ‘worrying’ and ‘wrong’, saying this fitness trend is unrealistic.

In January, photos of women holding pens underneath their breasts went viral in a bizarre trend that saw them trying to prove that they were ‘true’ women.

CENLatest body trend from China involves women comparing the their waist measurements to an upright piece of A4 paper

It was a simple idea. Lift up your top, put a pen or pencil under your breast and if it is held in place, you’re a ‘true’ woman. Snap a selfie and post it on social media. Some even took it a step further, experimenting with make-up brushes and bottles.

And that wasn’t even the start of it. Before this trend was a challenge to post photos showing you can reach around your back and touch your belly button. The posts were accompanied by a hashtag, which translates as ‘reach your belly button from behind to show you have a good figure’.

Given the apparent online obsession with body image, it looks as though more of these crazes will emerge as people think of more ways to prove their good looks.

Wonder Woman- Megan Torio left paralysed after being thrown from a truck by abusive boyfriend finds love and walks again -‘I feared I would never have sex again’:

…very inspiring and beautiful lady (5 sherkere for you)

Megan Torio, 28, broke her back and was left in a wheelchair after an abusive boyfriend through her from a moving truck. But she has defied doctors to walk again and has rebuilt her strength at the gym

Mrs Torio was told she would never walk again after an abusive boyfriend threw her from the vehicle travelling at 65mph. But she gradually rebuilt muscle in her legs and had metal rods removed from her back to do it
‘I was nervous about having sex again. I was done with men,’ she said.
‘I thought no man would be interested in me. But I now have my sex drive back.
‘I will live in chronic pain and I miss running and dancing in high heels, but I’m very happy to be alive. I could have died that day.
‘I continue to get stronger and better every day.’
Following the accident in 2010, the determined 28-year-old, from Jacksonville, Florida, underwent months of painstaking physiotherapy and defied doctors to relearn how to walk.
Speaking about the abuse, she said it left her both physically and mentally scarred for years to come.
‘I was awake and remember the whole thing. I couldn’t breathe as my ribs were broken,’ she said.
‘I blacked out at the hospital due to the pain.
‘They took skin from my back to make me a new labia, and you would never know in a million years I’d had surgery there. I had 15 stitches put in and was swollen for a fortnight.
‘I was told I would never walk again. I was devastated. I’d been so independent so this was a big deal.
‘I’d lost the use of my bowels and bladder and was given a catheter. I felt hopeless.’
X-rays revealed she had also broken her spinal cord, shoulder, collar bone and six ribs.
Many of the injuries were sustained as she struck a road sign, which caught her between her legs.

Her broken spine was among a raft of horrifying injuries including broken bones and a sliced labia, which left her unable to have sex for a year

Brave Mrs Torio defied medics and managed to walk again, including standing for wedding photos with husband Ron, 38, seen here
Mrs Torio remained in Halifax Hospital for a month before she was transferred to Brooke’s Rehabilitation Hospital – also in Florida – for extensive physiotherapy.
Although there was no guarantee she would ever walk again, she decided to buy a walker to help her rehabilitation.
She was determined to get back on her feet, especially as she’d previously worked so hard to reach her physical peak.
They took skin from my back to make me a new labia, and you would never know in a million years I’d had surgery there -Megan Torio, 28

Mrs Torio had turned to food after having a difficult childhood and reached 15 stone by the age of 19.

Determined to change, she joined the gym and attended cardio, spin and weight classes twice a day.
In just a year, she slimmed to eight stone and even appeared on the cover of a fitness magazine.
She had planned to pursue a career as a fitness model – but her dream was crushed after the incident.
Despite the odds being stacked against her, she decided to return to the gym in her wheelchair to work on her mobility.
I wanted to work on my legs. They were my favorite part of my body – long and lean,’ she said.
‘I put myself on the weight press. I knew I wouldn’t be able push it but I wanted to pretend to. I wanted that ‘pushing’ feeling.’
But afterwards she was left in excruciating pain and felt as though electricity was running through her leg.

Despite being left paralyzed, Mrs Torio started going to the gym and rebuilding muscle in her legs. After suffering excruciating pain, she realized the sensation had returned and was determined to walk again

The pain was caused by nerves in her quad muscle growing back. Despite the agonising pain, she continued with her work-out regime
She was taken back to hospital, where doctors told her that her left quad muscle was twitching.
‘It was only moving about an inch, but it seemed like a miracle,’ she recalled.
‘My surgeon asked, ‘What did you do?’ After I told him about the gym, he said the twitch was all we needed to give us hope I’d have more mobility in my wheelchair.
The pain was caused by nerves in her quad muscle growing back. Despite the agonising pain, she continued with her work-out regime.
Eventually, she was strong enough to ask her neurosurgeon to remove the rods in her back.
Following surgery, she attempted to stand for the first time.
‘One day I picked up my walker I’d bought during physio and thought, ‘What the heck, what do I have to lose?” she said.
‘I put my body weight on my left side. I had sweat running down my forehead from the pain.
‘I stood up for a few seconds before sitting down. It felt weird and I was light-headed, but it was contagious. I wanted to do it again.’
She worked on standing every day and eventually got to the point where she could manage to stay on her feet for two minutes. Then, she pushed herself to start taking steps.
In 2011 she bought a cane to help her get around and that March, she met her now-husband, Rod, through a friend.
She spent months having painful physiotherapy but astonished medics when she started to walk again
She was so anxious about the date that she almost cancelled – but luckily, a friend persuaded her to go.
‘I thought no-one would be interested in me. I was paraplegic and didn’t feel like a woman,’ she said.
‘I was embarrassed about being in a wheelchair so I used my walker on our first date to walk from the car in to the restaurant.
‘On our second date, I was determined to use my cane. Though I was sweating and in a lot of pain, I wanted to show I was an independent woman and I didn’t need a man to look after me.
‘After that, Rod encouraged me to use my cane. He was so supportive.’

Miracles aren’t handed to you on a silver plate, you have to work for them

She went from strength to strength, eventually regaining use of her bladder and bowels. Just a year after being told she would never walk again- on her 25th birthday – she stopped using her cane.
She even managed to stand for her wedding photos when she married Mr Torio in a ceremony in a local court house in March 2012.
Doctors have told her that she is able to have children – and her sex drive has returned.

She has shared her story to encourage others to battle through and show the unexpected is possible.

‘Miracles aren’t handed to you on a silver plate, you have to work for them,’ she said.
‘I think I was in denial that I would never walk again and I think that’s what got me to where I am now.
‘After I was finally able to walk on my own, without a frame or cane, I went to see my surgeon and he was in tears.
‘I believe in mind over matter and getting what you want.’

In his latest video, the YouTube user pours molten copper on top of a McDonald’s Big Mac, producing some stomach-turning results. The blazing hot metal seems to have little effect on the fast food giant’s famous burger, barely damaging it before rolling off the side.

Three generations of lady arm wrestlers in one family – anyone ready to challenge

A family that arm-wrestles together stays together — just ask the Kings.
These Canadian family have amassed numerous world titles and broken several bones competing in arm-wrestling tournaments  – Barcroft Media

“Arm-wrestling is ingrained in this family. Once you’re an arm-wrestler, you are always an arm-wrestler”

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); “Arm-wrestling is ingrained in this family. Once you’re an arm-wrestler, you are always an arm-wrestler,” explained Joyce King, the 51-year-old matriarch of the family and a 13-time world champion.
I love watching my children and grandchildren compete, even when they lose, because they are happy just being up there competing,” she said.
While arm-wrestling was once a sport reserved for bar rooms and truck stops, it can now be found in the bright lights of Las Vegas casinos.

Three generations of the King family are arm-wrestlers including daughter  Jessica, 28, 6 feet and 200 pounds a two-time world champion, and 20-year-old granddaughter Josie Montana, who has won two gold medals in Canada’s Arm Wrestling Championships – Barcroft.
“I first started arm-wrestling when I was 11 years old. I just love the sport” – Jessica.
“The people are absolutely amazing. Everyone comes together and shares tips and doesn’t turn everything into a rivalry,” she said. “At this point, I can probably beat Josie, but my mom is pretty jacked at the moment, so I’m not touching that for a while.”

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The other King family members who are arm wrestlers include Joyce’s son Cody King, 28, and grandchildren Hailey, 7, Jaxson, 7, Jacob, 6, and Jenika, 3.
Her husband, Alan, 62, also used to compete, but was forced to retire after breaking his arm — an injury that Joyce has experienced as well.
“I was in the middle of the match and I managed to bring the lady back up,” she told Barcroft. “I brought my wrist back up and then snap — it just snapped off. I didn’t feel anything, no pain, until 15 minutes into the ambulance ride. But everything is good now. I made a good recovery and now I’m back.”

Alan –  the best arm-wrestler in the family is “Joyce could definitely beat me in an arm wrestle because she is stronger and better locked,” he said. “I am not embarrassed. She could beat guys a lot bigger than me. I find her big muscles sexy. I think she is a super woman and very feminine — just not at the table. I love her and I’m very proud of what she has achieved.”

Married NBA players blackmailed (victimized) by Porn Stars

A hotel tryst could cost an NBA player more than the cash in his wallet. Fantasy sports aficionado Lisa Ann tells Complex, athletes have become easy blackmail targets for “actresses” in the porn industry.

https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2016/03/ps.jpg?quality=100&strip=all&w=664&h=441&crop=1
 Photo: nypost

“Most stories of NBA players getting hustled do not shock me since I’ve probably heard the worst from girls talking on porn sets about the things they do to players,” Ann explains.
“You would be shocked how many NBA players have been blackmailed in an effort to keep their privacy. My guess is a minimum of 25 percent of NBA players have dealt with blackmail at some point in their career,” she continues. “I’ve heard girls brag about long-term hustles where they have a player paying their rent and expenses just to keep them quiet and out of their family life.”

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); While single players are still considered prey, Ann shares that it’s the wedded stars who are the top of the depth chart.

“I’ve heard girls say make sure he is married or in a relationship before going back to his hotel with him. Once there they wait for their moment alone with his wallet and take photos of all of his credit cards and his ID. The final part of the plan is blackmail,” –  Lisa Ann

Lisa Ann explained how, she believes, at least 25 percent of NBA players are blackmailed at some point.

Modal Trigger – Though ladies looking for more than love pose a threat to these athletes, Ann also cautions players venturing to strip clubs.
“Strip clubs are another common danger for young players. I know clubs tend to operate with the idea that most people don’t want to be caught there or going there. So they often scam credit cards and girls often steal wallets after a guy has had too much to drink,” she shares. “I have witnessed clubs shake down wealthy patrons that were drunk as well as set up ‘outside jobs’ where they have someone waiting for a patron to leave.”

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});  Last December, Knicks guard Cleanthony Early became a cautionary tale as he was shot and robbed leaving a Queens gentlemen’s club. As Early recovers and eyes a return, Ann advises that athletes looking to blow off steam should seek solace elsewhere.
“With hustles like this happening to regular people, you can imagine how much more likely it is to happen to a famous, naive, 6’8″ NBA millionaire. He’s like a neon target to these people, and the longer he’s at the club, the greater the chances sinister plans get set in motion,” she notes.

Witnesses told local news they could hear his screams from the street.
Local media reported that Leo appeared unscathed but had been taken to the Royal Children Hospital in Melbourne for observation.

Shell being sued in two claims over oil spills in Nigeria

…how are people supposed to function with  everything poisoned with this carcinogen every where https://i1.wp.com/ichef.bbci.co.uk/news/660/media/images/80099000/jpg/_80099293_024973534-1.jpgPhoto: Reuters Oil giant Shell is being sued in London for the second time in five years over spills in the Niger Delta.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Two communities are claiming compensation and want Shell to clean up their land.
Shell said it is at an “early stage” in reviewing the claims and that the case should be heard in Nigeria.
The Ogale community of about 40,000 people in Rivers State, on the coast of Nigeria, who are mainly farmers or fishermen, are some of the claimants.
Their case is being handled by law firm Leigh Day.
Spills since 1989 have meant they don’t have clean drinking water, farmland or rivers, their claim says.
It points to a November 2015 report by Amnesty International which says four spill sites Shell says it planned to clean up are still contaminated.
The first court hearing at the Technology and Construction Court, held on Wednesday, found that the claimants can can lodge a case against Shell’s Nigerian business, known as Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria (SPDC). Shell declined to comment on the ruling.

Clean-up plan
Amnesty’s findings followed a 2011 report by United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) which found water contaminated with oil by-products including benzene, thought to be a carcinogen. It suggested a clean up, but said a “sustainable recovery” of the area could take up to 30 years.
Shell says it has agreed a clean-up plan.

“In mid-2015 SPDC JV, along with the government, UNEP and representatives of the Ogoni community, agreed to an 18-month roadmap to fast-track the environmental clean-up and remediation of Ogoniland which includes a governance framework,” it said in a statement.

Sexting Now Legal – New Mexico teens can now legally sext each other and exchange nude photos

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Governor Susana Martinez, a Republican, signed into law a proposal that allows people aged 14 to 18 to engage in consensual sexting, which means adolescents caught sharing explicit photos with each other will no longer risk facing “child pornography” charges, prison sentences and a damaging criminal record.
“Kids will be kids, and they’re going to make mistakes,” said state senator George Muñoz, a Democrat who authored the legislation exempting sexting from child exploitation laws. “You can’t punish them for the rest of their lifetime with a charge of child pornography … if they’re consensually sending photos back and forth.”

White Dad disowns daughter over dating black boy…"My belief is that interracial relationships are despicable. Vulgar and reprehensible."

While it may not be anti-biblical, I know I will never accept it, and I’ll never forgive you. My belief is that interracial relationships are despicable. Vulgar and reprehensible.
– Father of young white girl dating a black boy.

Stephanie Hicks, 19,  from Keller, Texas, shared crazy notes from her self professed christian dad on Twitter, in which he threatened to disown her if she continued dating a boy of another skin color. He told her she had ‘disrespected her family in every way’ by having a boyfriend with a different skin color to her.

He gave her a final ultimatum – saying there were ‘three empty suitcases waiting for her belongings to be packed in if she stayed with her partner, called Nike.’

‘There are three suitcases emptied and waiting. Change your name as soon as possible, because I won’t have any association with you. Ever.’

Both Stephanie and Nike have received many messages of support after sharing their story on Twitter

Stephanie’s boyfriend later added a post on his Twitter account, reading: ‘My girl’s dad wrote that letter and once I read it I felt as though the mature thing to do was to end the relationship, I’m not about to see my girl homeless.’ But he said that Stephanie didn’t want to split and instead told her parents they had broken up, but when the post of her letter went viral her family realized they were still together. It is not known whether her father followed through with his threat.

Touching moment Little girl born with no voice finds her voice – video

Watch touching moment little girl with no voice bursts into laughter, for the first time!

Amazing moment little Amber laughed for the first time.

Having fun: Amber with Shocks the donkey and her riding instructor at Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary

Twin sisters Hope and Amber were born 26 weeks premature, weighing just 800g and 700g, and had to be rushed straight into intensive care. But as Hope grew in strength, Amber struggled to breathe on her own, and needed to have an emergency tracheotomy
Its positioning meant no air passed over Amber’s vocal cords so her mum and dad never heard their daughter cry or laugh. They had no idea whether her voice box was permanently damaged.

Then, at the age of two, after being diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Amber visited Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary. And, quite simply, her life changed forever. Doctors weren’t sure whether the little girl would walk or talk but she became determined to do both, for Shocks. Bolstered by Amber’s courage, Tracy and Julian decided to see if their daughter had a voice.“We’d never heard her at all,” adds Tracy.

“When she cried, we never heard anything because the air never carried past her voicebox due to the tracheotomy. We used Makaton (a language program using signs and symbols) to communicate. “We had no idea if her vocal chords were paralyzed. It was such a relief to know she had a voice.”

Playtime: Amber and her sister Hope with Shocks the donkey
“I remember walking in and seeing Shocks, a massive black donkey who looked angry,” says Tracy, 37, from Kingstanding. “But Amber fell in love with him. She cuddled his nose, it was like they made friends straight away.

“A member of staff put her on his back and she stroked his neck, which was badly scarred from where he’d been mistreated. I thought he might bolt and run off but he just stood there and let Amber cuddle him. “It was really lovely, like they’d known each other for ages.”

“It was just such a happy moment,” says dad Julian. “I sang the song ‘My Hat, It Has Three Corners.” “We had seen her laugh, but never heard it before.” “My mum – she’s Nanny Di to the girls – was also there. It was just amazing to hear Amber laughing.”

A speech therapist had suggested that -Amber could try a speaking valve and the family were delighted when it worked.

“She started talking to Shocks in her own language,” says Tracy.
“We couldn’t really understand what she was saying but it was her way of talking. “Hope worked hard to talk to her, too. “Then one day I said ‘You love Shocks, don’t you?’ and she said ‘Love Shocks.’ It was really cute!

“She also laughed for the first time on my her own as we were playing at home with our dog, Ruby. “It sounds like such a tiny thing to most people – but to us it was amazing.” It was around the same time that Amber took her first steps, too.

“I’d been devastated when Amber was diagnosed with cerebral palsy as a result of a bleed on the brain at birth,” says Tracy. “I thought ‘She’s not going to walk, she’ll be in a wheelchair.’

“All these horrible thoughts went through my mind but there was nothing we could do.”  “When I’d first seen Amber in an incubator several hours after she’d been born, she was black and bruised, wrapped in bubble wrap. “She didn’t look like a baby at all, she was so tiny. “So to see her taking her first steps was a lovely moment.”

Shocks the donkey had been abused and left for dead on a farm in Ireland, and no-one ever thought he would make a full recovery. But it seemed the more time Amber and Shocks spent together at the donkey sanctuary, in Sutton Park, the more they both developed. “They had a real trust between them right from the start,” says Tracy.

“The first time Shocks saw Amber coming, he lowered his head so she could wrap her arms around his nose.” “It was as if they understood each other’s pain.

“Mentally, she’s really good, she’s really brainy. She can control her speaking valve so she can switch it off if she needs more air during PE or to clear her throat. “And she’s a massive character – we’re always laughing and joking with her: “At the book launch, she sat with Ruth, the ghost writer and, as people were coming to have their books signed, she said ‘Next person please!” “We don’t want her to think her condition is a bad thing because we can’t change it. It’s part of her, that’s our Amber.”

Mitzvah for the day – Efena Otobo – Help Efena Walk Again!

Efena Otobo’s story.   Her journey to recovery from a Spinal Cord Injury

I saw this story o the net and my heart went out to the lady affected and thought she will greatly benefit from a good deed being done for her.

… her story goes as follows

Photo: Efena  – Killing it – intense therapy style! Using the exoskeleton and the standing frame.

On the 21st day of April 2014, one single catastrophic event completely altered my universe. In one moment, my whole life drastically changed. A reckless driver caused a horrible car accident that had severe consequences. After numerous tests and scans, the diagnosis given was a complete T4 spinal cord injury which in ‘regular person speak’ meant I could not feel anything from the waist down. We were told that there was very little chance of ever walking again and that the road to recovery would be long, hard and punishing. My family, friends and I were beyond devastated at this news.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My life came to a screeching halt and I was torn from everything I knew. I was an Asset Manager at the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON) with a background in Economics and Politics (BSc.) from the University of Bristol, England and a concentration in Development Studies (MSc.) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. I loved traveling, writing, poetry, art, architecture, the world of movies and TV shows, running, yoga and Pilates. Now with this prognosis, being labelled a paraplegic meant I was confined, restricted and immobilized.

Suddenly, I was a baby once again. I had to re-learn how to sit up and balance at the edge of the bed, be taught how to dress myself and I had to learn how to roll over. It seemed like a never-ending nightmare I could not escape from.

Physiotherapy became a constant and I spent hours in hospital gyms and rehab facilities trying to build up my upper body strength, learning how to execute perfect transfers from the wheelchair to any surface and preventing my leg muscles from dying. Without the tireless guidance from the physical therapists and the aid of the different breakthrough assistive devices and technology such as standing frames, exoskeleton machines that enable me to walk etc., I would not be where I am today.

To get the best chance of total recovery from my current state of paralysis, I desperately need a specific equipment that I can use at home. Continuous use of rehab programs at Wellington Hospital, London, Project Walk San Diego and Beyond Therapy, Shepherd Center in Atlanta, Georgia has been essential but the bills have and are piling up.
