Hitching a free bear ride

A bear has hitched a ride on top of a garbage truck in the American state of New Mexico, travelling at least five miles on the vehicle before it was able to make its escape up a tree.

The driver was picking up a dumpster last week when he heard a squeal then realised the bear was on top of the truck, said a spokeswoman for Santa Fe national forest, Julie Anne Overton.

It rode on top of the truck to a site where the forest service keeps a firefighting helicopter.

Helicopter mechanic Evan Welsch, who snapped photos of the bear, said about 30 forest service and national park workers gathered around to see the animal.

The driver then backed up near a tree to give it an escape route. The animal then clambered into the tree and stayed up there for about an hour or two before scurrying down and running off.

In July wildlife officials in New Mexico said a bear attacked a woman who was running a marathon in a national preserve in the north of the state. The woman suffered several bites and scratches and had injuries to her head, neck and upper body that were not life-threatening.

Guilty and sentenced to Life:  3 of Seventeen lions found guilty of murder. 17 lions were rounded up after a teenager was dragged from his bed and killed – video

3 man-eating lions have received a ‘life sentence’ after they were identified as having consumed humans.

The male and two females will be kept in captivity for the rest of their lives, having been deemed too dangerous to be released.
A total of 17 lions were rounded up after a 14-year-old boy was dragged away while sleeping outside his house in the Gir National Forest in Gujarat state, India.
Lion charges directly at little boy before smashing into glass wall

The boy was the third person killed since April in the area, prompting protests by villagers who demanded authorities hunt down the man-eaters.
Gujarat’s chief conservator, AP Singh, said wildlife officials identified the three lions by analysing the lions’ faeces and paw prints. Human remains were found in the faeces of the three lions.
The behaviour of the animals was also observed – cats which have targeted humans often act more aggressively towards people.
It is believed the male had attacked and killed the humans, while the females had eaten the leftovers.

Saving their queen: Loyal Swarm of bees follow woman’s car for over 24 hours attempting to rescue their queen

Carol Howarth, 65, was plagued by a huge swarm of bees 20,000 in all  for more than 24 hours while driving her car home from a nature reserve. The incident happened shortly after she had parked her car in the town centre

A It took 5 people to resolve this incident, a team of three beekeepers, a national park ranger and members of the public helped to capture and contain the swarm inside a cardboard box while Mrs Howarth was away from the car shopping.

Speaking about the incident on Tuesday, Mrs Howarth said she had “never seen anything like it.”

While she was away from the vehicle, thousands of bees descended on the boot of her car, causing many passers-by to stop and take pictures of the spectacle.

Pembrokeshire Coast National Park ranger Tom Moses, 41, raised the alarm when he spotted the swarm on the car parked outside the Three Crowns pub in Haverfordwest.

Concerned that the insects might be destroyed with pesticide, Mr Moses contacted two members of Pembrokeshire Beekeepers’ Association, to help capture the swarm.

“It was spectacular. I was driving through when I spotted the big brown splodge,” he said.

“A lot of people were really amazed by it, cars were slowing down and people were taking pictures of it.

“I was a little bit concerned, with it being in the middle of town outside a pub, that someone might do something stupid and get hurt or do something stupid and hurt the bees,”

“As I drove past I noticed this big brown splodge on the back of a car.

“I had seen swarms before settle on things like this but never one as large as this. It was quite a thing to see – certainly a ‘wow’ moment.

“I was really worried that someone could get hurt by them or that someone might damage them in their bid to clear the car so I stopped to help out.

“It is fair to say I had a sting in the tale – I was stung to my head, neck and the back of my ears. But I took some anti-histamines and they are not too bad now.”

However, after returning to her car, Mrs Howarth drove home believing the problem had been resolved, only to discover on Monday morning that the swarm had followed her and were again covering the car.

It got resolved after a second try

Worn out!: Office worker, 29, admits her addiction to having SEX more than 10 times a day has cost her a job and friends (and it’s left her boyfriend worn out!)

‘…keen to dispel the myths around the issue and make people realise it is a real problem and not something to laugh about’

Sami Walton, 29, developed a sex addiction in her early 20s after break-up
She travelled hundreds of miles to sleep with friends and strangers
But her life has turned around since meeting partner James Keates, 38
Now she is raising awareness because ‘sex addiction is a serious issue’

She lost her job and many of her friends due to her struggles with addiction.
But Sami Walton is not under the power of drugs or alcohol, but rather a slave to her own lust.
The 29-year-old has a sex addiction that leaves her unable to keep her hands off partner of four years James Keates. Office worker Miss Walton leaves the 38-year-old exhausted by having sex more than 10 times a day on some occasions.
But she is keen to dispel the myths around the issue and make people realise it is a real problem and not something to laugh about.

Miss Walton, left and right with Mr Keates, developed the problem in her early 20s after a break-up

Miss Walton, of Ascot, Berkshire, told the Sunday People: ‘Most men think they would love a partner who needs sex so much, but none of my previous boyfriends could handle it.

‘I’m lucky to have James. Not only does he have the stamina to keep up with me, he’s really supportive and doesn’t judge me when I’m having a bad day.’
If Mr Keates is too tired to sustain her addiction she has a £1,500 collection of sex toys to turn to.
He told the People: ‘In the early days I felt like I’d won the lottery. But now I’m getting a bit older it can be exhausting and I know it gets Sami down. I just try my best to be understanding.’
Miss Walton said she has shunned medical treatment in the past because she did not feel doctors understood what she was going through.
She revealed she would travel hundreds of miles to sleep with strangers before meeting her partner

3345c7f000000578-3544574-image-a-14_1460910695152
Mr Keates added her addiction was ‘obvious’ from the start but that he ‘understands’ and reassures her

She developed the problem in her early 20s after a break-up with a long term partner, and ended up travelling all over the country for casual rendezvous with both men and women. It led to her failing to turn up to work and her life ‘spiralled out of control’, sleeping with regular ‘friends with benefits’ and complete strangers.
She added it led to ‘dangerous situations’ because she would go home with people she ‘knew nothing about’.
Miss Walton said a life-changing moment came in 2010 when she woke up hundreds of miles away from home and she realized she had a genuine problem and was not just ‘on the rebound’.
She soon lost her job and went to see her GP about the issue, but was only prescribed anti-anxiety medication, while the waiting list to see a counsellor was ‘too long’.
The 29-year-old, right, lost her financial job because she would often turn up late to work or not at all due to her meeting people for sex

She added she does not undergo formal treatment for the condition because doctors ‘don’t understand it’

But six months later her life began to turn around after meeting Mr Keates through a mutual friend, and he has become a source of comfort and reassurance for her.
Mr Keates said it was ‘obvious’ his new partner was a sex addict straight away but that he told her they could talk about the issue and have always been open about it.
He added he is ‘quite adventurous’ and they once had sex more than 40 times over a Bank Holiday weekend.
Miss Walton describes her boyfriend as her ‘therapist and lover’ and said if she is ever feeling overwhelmed she calls him for support.

WHAT IS SEX ADDICTION AND HOW CAN IT BE TREATED?
Relationship counselling service Relate describes sex addiction as any sexual activity that feels out of control for the people participating.
This can involve sex with another person but also watching pornography, masturbation, visiting prostitutes or calling sex chat lines.
Addicts are unable to control their urges and actions and thus it causes problems in their relationships, finances and professional lives.
The addiction itself is causes by powerful chemicals released in the human body during sex that the addict craves.
Signs of sex addiction include increased irritability, tiredness, depression, anxiety, a reduced sex drive with a romantic partner and erectile difficulties.
Treatment is usually found in the form of counseling along with specialist centers that treat compulsive behavior.

Hunters in Okeechobee, Florida, have captured and killed a 15ft, 800lb alligator that was eating cows
They believed the gator had been feasting on the farm’s cattle.

Godwin told Fox 12: ‘We also discovered the remains what we determined to be cattle in the water. We determined that he was in fact attacking our livestock as they came to drink.’
On Saturday the creature surfaced around 20ft from them, so they shot it.
It was so big they had to use a tractor to drag it out. However, they were then able to use the vehicle to proudly show off their catch.
They plan to donate the gator’s meat to charity and have the alligator taxidermied for display at their hunting shows and expos.

Mr Drysdale, 54, was photographing animals in Piper Pan Central Kalahari Game Reserve when he spotted the lion and the jackal.
‘I watched the jackal approach the Lion from a few different angles, as jackals always hang around the Lions to try and steal a few scraps from their dinner table,’ he said.
‘This Jackal sneaked up on the Lion from behind him and managed to close enough to have a munch on his tail because the lion was flicking his tail from side to side.
‘I wondered what the jackal was going to do, but I certainly didn’t expect him to bite the Lions tail. I thought the inter-action was very funny and typical of a bold naughty jackal,’ he said.

‘There was certainly no danger involved to me, for the Jackal it was a different situation,’ Mr Drysdale joke

Now it’s getting silly. This is Brigit’s haul from the last two months. Every morning we wake up to more. I’ve put notes in every letterbox in the street. Someone must be missing this stuff. Please share if you know someone who lives in the George St area.
‘the cat … has stolen 11 pairs of men’s pants and 50 socks.’
A cat that is obsessed with men’s underwear has stolen more than 60 pieces of socks and pants in just two months.

Brigit, a six-year-old cat, has become a social media sensation in its native New Zealand.
Sarah Nathan, from Hamilton East, who owns the cat, says that it has stolen 11 pairs of men’s pants and 50 socks.
And the cat has even made a collection in Sarah’s home.
She’s posted leaflets in her local community apologising for her pet’s behaviour.

The owner is also asking anyone who thinks they have had their underwear stolen to come forward and reclaim them.
Speaking to the New Zealand Herald, Sarah said: “It’s really, really weird. She’s got really specific taste.
“In our last house she’d bring home a bit of everything – she’d bring home men’s undies, women’s undies, togs, she even brought home a hockey shin pad and a jumper.

//pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); “She was much less discerning – now she’s decided menswear is the thing – and it’s a very specific kind of underpants that she likes.
“It’s an absolute obsession. A night does not go by without her bringing things home.
“I got up this morning and there were another four socks in the house.”
